Short Story Sunday | Elephants and Corpses | Kameron Hurley

I bloody loved this book, should really call it a short story I guess, being only twenty five pages long, but it packed a punch, can honestly say that I enjoyed this more than some full length books, but it felt just right.

I have never read this author before -or indeed- heard of her, but I am so glad that I spent a bored hour once surfing the Kindle deals on Amazon….

The premise is what captivated me and have not read anything like it before, I wish she would write more about these charecters –

I really like the way Hurley manages to build up a rich and very real world for us to enjoy in such few pages, the storytelling is abundant, alive and unflinching in its approach, the language is real too and if you are not a fan of profanity, then this is not for you, as this F bomb is dropped frequently.

This does not bother me and quite frankly, I think it is well deserved within the story.

So today, I shall reward this book with a healthy dose of honey and I shall be on my way to see what else this author has to offer.

TTFN, I shall be off!!
